EARL'S COVE 2023
GET FIT AND LEARN ABOUT THE TRAILS ON THE SUNSHINE COAST
The Pender Harbour Hikers were established in 2011 and
boast nearly 100 hikers – both full timers and seasonal residents.
Hikes are scheduled two months in advance and distributed to all hikers on our email list.
The hike schedule is also found under the Schedule tab.
'Like' the Pender Harbour Hikers on Facebook to follow us and receive notices of hikes for the upcoming week.

The hikes take place on trails from Egmont to Sechelt and all points in between - with an occasional full day hike out of the
area for those interested in participating.
All hikes will begin at a trailhead; locations vary, noted on schedule.
Hikes will begin promptly at 8:30a.m. April through September, 9:00am October through March.
Carpooling is the decision of the participants and will NOT be organized by the Hike Leader.
Hikes generally last from 1.5 to 2.5 hours every Monday & Wednesday.
We hike all year round except Christmas Day.
A good level of fitness is required as most of the routes have uneven terrain and some have very steep elevation gains.
Your safety is important to us but at the same time the responsibility to hike safely is yours.
For the wellbeing of others, do not hike if you are feeling unwell in any way.
For more information see the page FAQ.
This is a great way to get to know trails on the Coast that you may not have been aware existed and to meet like-minded, energetic neighbours at the same time.
Hike as often as you like: get on the e-mail list (so you will get a copy of the current hiking schedule
and notices about cancelled hikes, changes in routes, etc.) or check out this
website and then arrive on time at the designated meeting spot on the morning of the hike.
Hikes begin promptly at the listed time.
TRAIL MAINTENANCE
Like cleaning your house, tidy and safe trails never stay that way. Ongoing maintenance includes removing downed or dangerous branches/trees, weed whacking, repair and replacement of trail signage and posts (both human and wildlife caused damage), bridge building, and improving the safety of trails.
Pack a pair of garden clippers in your backpack for some quick trimming of unruly brush while we hike.
Many hands, clippers, saws and shovels make for light work. Trail maintenance needs everyone to help pitch in.
Come do your part when the call for help goes out.
